Spring is my preferred time of the year to fish the McKenzie and Willamette Rivers. Cool days, light rain, and overcast skies make the Dry Fly Fisher drool with enjoyment.
After a really unseasonably warm April, cooler temperature levels and rain showed up later on in the month and it started to seem like spring once again.

Justin and I chose to fish the Middle Fork up high and after a postponed start to search some rapids we were on our method.
The day started excellent with fish smashing our Possie Buggers w/ Legs and Black Copper Johns off our Hopper/Dropper setup. The trout all appeared to leap like dolphins as soon as hooked. The fishing was excellent mid to late early morning, however decreased a little in between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

It was among those days where you needed to exist to think it. Fantastic fishing, excellent good friends, enjoyable rapids, and stunning landscapes.
