Fly Fishing Methods – Late Winter Season/ Pre-Runoff – Nymphing & Banner Fishing – Checking Out Water and Methods
Fly fishing in March/ April on the North Fork Coeur d’Alene and St. Joe Rivers can be some fantastic fishing if you understand what to search for and how to fish them. In this 2 part series we cover some fundamentals for “pre-runoff” fly fishing on these North Idaho streams when walk & wade fishing.
The subjects that I go over in this video consist of:
– walk/wade fishing back eddies with nymphs/streamers
– fishing “soft” water along the bank
– casting idea for handling steep/brushy banks.
When water levels increase in the spring, do not let walk/wade fishing these rivers terrify you. The majority of the time the fish are tight to the bank and you do not even need to get in the water.
Thanks for seeing and let me understand if you have concerns listed below!
