After a year of preparation and stakeholder engagement, fisheries supervisors with Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife in southwest Oregon are proposing to continue the harvest of wild winter season steelhead in their recently launched preservation management prepare for the Rogue and south coast watersheds of southern Oregon. The preservation strategy consists of the following concerns– Wild harvest is being proposed without population abundance price quotes, management triggers are not plainly suggested to assist supply a structure or openness to how the types will be handled, and hatchery program growths are being proposed on the Rogue and south coast impacting the long-lasting health of our wild populations of salmon and steelhead.
