Invite to the current installation of our series of videos called “ One-Minute Fly-Tying Tips and Methods” from Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions Each video shows a single connecting ability, from one of the most fundamental to the advanced. Eventually, the series will act as a sort of encyclopedia of connecting abilities that will be an important resource for anybody who takes a seat at a vise to develop a fly.
In this week’s lesson, Tim reveals you how to develop sensible, tapered bodies on baitfish patterns that utilize artificial products. The majority of baitfish are naturally tapered front to back, so a fly that ends in a straight line of fibers will not use a reasonable shape in the water. As normal, Tim’s option is both easy and reliable– among those “wow” minutes that frequently occur when you see a master at work.
