It taking place folks, it is time to go out trout fishing. This is definitely my preferred season, and conditions are just enhancing. I reside in downtown Eugene and can be wadered up/boat in the water in under 20 minutes and fishing for a few of the most gorgeous trout on the planet. We are incredibly fortunate individuals, I believe. Anyhow, here’s what I have actually seen the last couple of days on our regional trout rivers. Sunday I fished from Hendricks to Hayden, and had it stuck in my head that the very first half from Hendricks to Bellinger was not going to be fantastic because I have not had much luck in there just recently. We captured a variety of stunning fish in the leading half, and by the time we got to Bellinger the March Browns were hatching enough to get the fish interested. I discovered a group of increasing fish, however an hour passed together with a couple lots trout to the boat prior to we needed to carry on. It was cold and the surface area activity didn’t last long. I was out today, it got up to 70 something degrees, and the march browns remained in complete impact. Swinging a soft hackle in the early morning was best, followed by dries from 11-noon and after that back to swinging softies and nymphing in the afternoon. I was fishing a possie bugger and march brown emerger for my swing setup, purple haze for my dry and a selection of jigs under an indicator or huge dry fly. If you reside in the location and love to capture trout as wild as they come, now is the time.
Likewise, as an aside, there are a couple of difficult areas on the lower river today. Please, if you have any doubts or concerns about a float, call us at the store and we will provide you the low down so you do not get stuck in a sticky scenario. Be safe and have a good time out there!
