Bob Quigley was among the most prominent fly tiers of his generation. While he passed in 2012, his developments in fly connecting reside on, and continue to affect fly style today.
In a 2013 Fly Angler Publication post, Charlie Craven had this to state about Quigley: “( he) altered the shape of technical dry-fly fishing. That’s a remarkable sentence and a a lot more outstanding task. He created the now-common term ‘maim,’ and handled with that single word to change the method lots of fly tiers take a look at patterns developed for technical fishing and flat water.”
The folks at Fly Angler Publication just recently republished a post Quigley composed back in 2008. This piece includes his leading 14 fly connecting pointers, and if there’s anybody we need to listen to about connecting, it’s Quigley.
The pointers consist of how to cut artificial hair and fur, utilizing Jungle Dick plumes to mimic eyes on banners, and incorporating parachute hackle. These are abilities everybody can deal with, and it deserves your time to check out the entire story.
