Since I was a kid, I have actually imagined fishing in Alaska, and today, that dream lastly became a reality. We flew from Boise to Anchorage, awakened before dawn, and set out to discover a stream I have actually been preparing for all year. The timing could not have actually been much better; sockeye salmon were charging upstream, and countless dolly varden were stacked right behind them.
Every cast was mayhem. We captured fish after fish, surrounded by amazing surroundings, crystal-clear glacial water, and the raw charm of Alaska’s backcountry. From sight-fishing to aggressive consumes, this was do it yourself fly fishing at its finest.
