Deal With the Orvis Fly Fishing blog site started in April 2010, and the very first post appeared on September 20 of that year. For more than eleven years, it’s been a mainly solo effort, however I enjoy to present our very first assistant blog site editor, Evan Jones. He concerns us with a breadth of fly-fishing experience in both fresh and seawater, along with a history of blogging about this sport we like. We’re thrilled to include a brand-new voice to the Orvis Fly Fishing blog site. Join me in inviting Evan to the group.
You’ll be seeing his byline a fair bit from now on, so here’s a bit about him:

Background

My grandfather purchased me a Mickey Mouse pole for my 5th birthday, and we utilized it to capture a huge ol’ carp, which started my long-lasting fascination with fishing. In college at CU Stone, I fell in with a group of fly-fishing guides who typically welcomed me on their individual journeys, and we drifted all over the West while they gradually brought my abilities up to par.
Ultimately fly-fishing started taking control of my life, till one day I stopped my task, offered the majority of my things, and purchased a one-way ticket to Argentina. That experience covered more than 2 years and culminated in the publishing of a guidebook on the region that stays popular today. I then transferred to Sarasota, Florida, where I invested the next years discovering how to fish saltwater while directing the biggest fly-fishing club in the state and operating at a close-by college teaching an “Introduction to Fly-Fishing” course for grownups.
Just recently, I returned to my house state of Colorado, where I have actually been assisting and teaching for a couple of old buddies, and now blogging about my preferred topic for lots of brand-new ones.
