2021 is the year of awful steelhead returns, and the Skeena River hasn’t got away that pattern. The British Columbia Federation of Fly Fishers just recently revealed that, since August 31, just 5,280 adult steelhead have actually gone back to the Skeena. That’s a paltry 23% of the typical run size.
Closures are being enacted, and all anglers are asked to avoid fishing for steelhead.
