Today’s Tying Tuesday includes a diverse mix of patterns that vary from the standard to the whimsical. We kick things off with an age-old dry fly developed by Fran Betters. Adam of Fly Anorak strolls you through the connecting procedure, stressing that sophistication is not the point. Next up is an extremely basic banner from J.J. Murray (a.k.a. Long Rod), which works in both trout rivers and bass ponds. Things go wonky when we get to Steve Cullen‘s Chamwaah, which is part nymph and part Squirmy. It’s a funky-looking pattern that works. Lastly, Strike-Zone Fly Fishing connects a cool redfish pattern with great deals of movement and a touch of blue to contrast with more natural colors.
