Today’s Tying Tuesday is totally fall-flavored, with a great mayfly dun that is shrieking to be fished throughout the late-season blue-wing hatches. Then we have 2 nymphs, among which is stillwater-focused, and another that’s a version of a reliable nymph.
Up very first is this incredible little mayfly pattern from Davie McPhail, which he calls the fall dun. I’m definitely connecting a few of these up (in smaller sized sizes, obviously) for the trico hatches that are entering into full speed around here.
Our next fly is an enjoyable twist on a reliable old pattern– the Rainbow Warrior. This one, connected by AvidMax, is the Black Alternative Rainbow Warrior, and it looks interesting enough to put a couple of in my box, I believe.
Concluding today’s Tying Tuesday is what Steve Cullen calls the very best Stillwater Hare’s Ear ever. That’s a huge claim to make, however this bug appears like it’ll capture fish. And it’s a tip that I actually require to invest more time fishing lakes than rivers.
