Invite to the most recent installation of our series of videos called “ One-Minute Fly-Tying Tips and Methods” from Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions Each video will teach a single connecting ability, from one of the most standard to the advanced. Eventually, the series will work as a sort of encyclopedia of connecting abilities that will be an important resource for anybody who takes a seat at a vise to develop a fly.
In this video, Tim shows 3 methods to make a weed guard on a fly pattern. If you fish anywhere where weeds will nasty the hook, you’ll wish to include a piece of heavy monofilament to press the weeds aside before they can get captured by the hook. Tim reveals you how to include a weed guard to a currently finished fly and how to integrate a loop of mono into the pattern itself.
